In The CW’s Golden Globe nominated comedy series “Jane The Virgin,” Justin Baldoni stars as
Rafael, the rich, hotel owner who has an on-again, off-again relationship with Jane (Gina
Rodriguez), as well as a baby.
His spectacular performance recently garnered earned him a 2015 Imagen Award
nomination for “Best Supporting Actor.” Further, the onscreen chemistry between Baldoni’s
Rafael and Rodriguez’s Jane garnered them a 2015 and 2016 Teen Choice Award nomination for
#ChoiceLipLock. The show itself continues to receive numerous nominations and build visibility
and recognition among both fans and critics.
Born in Los Angeles and raised in Medford, Oregon, Baldoni grew up wanting to direct. In
2004, he won guest starring roles on television series such as “The Young and the Restless,”
“Charmed” and “The Suite Life of Zack and Cody,” as well as a series regular role on “Everwood,”
that had him starting to think about a life in front of the camera. At the same time, he was on
the path to success as a commercial and music video director.
This prompted Baldoni to start his own production company, Wayfarer Entertainment.
Wayfarer Entertainment is a digital film and television production company focused on what he
calls “Chocolate Covered Broccoli,” celebrating and elevating the human spirit through socially
conscious and inspirational media. That focus has served Baldoni well. In 2012, he created
the Award-Winning web-series “My Last Days,” celebrating the lives and legacy of the terminally
ill. The first season garnered 30 million views and has helped raised over one-million dollars for
various charitable foundations and individual families to date. The second season of “My Last
Days” broadcast aired on The CW in August 2016 in conjunction with the network’s new digital
vertical, co-created by Baldoni and Wayfarer, CWGOOD, which highlights the causes that CW
stars and fans care about with content that will both entertain and inspire. The series has
already been picked up for a third season and past episodes can be viewed online
Additionally, Baldoni is slated to produce and direct his first feature film, based on the
Zach Sobiech story currently titled “Clouds” for Warner Bros. Studios, as well as other television
and film projects in development at various networks and studios.
As a positive influence in media and rooted in a faith that believes in being of service
to mankind, Baldoni has been invited to share his views on compassion with His Holiness The
Dalai Lama as part of the Youth Leadership Panel on the Significance of Education in Advancing
Universal Human Values. He also started the 1st Annual Carnival for the Homeless and is
extremely passionate about using his platform to redefine masculinity and empower women. He
currently travels the country speaking about his take on the future of the entertainment industry
and content creation spreading the message of making one’s work a form of service.
Baldoni currently resides in Los Angeles with his family; wife Emily and baby daughter Maiya
